Sweet & Spicy Glazed Cashews

Looking for a last minute gift idea for the holidays? Make these Sweet & Spicy Glazed Cashews — they are always a hit!

Guest post by Big Apple Curry co-founder Myna who is my sister, lives in Toronto, and works in the non-profit world with a girls and women’s organization

Every Christmas, my office has a fundraiser to support a project at our organization. For the last two years, we’ve held a “flea market” where everyone brings in a variety of homemade items — things like baked goods, greeting cards, soap and other items for purchase. Every year, I make our Sweet & Spicy Glazed Cashews and they’re a huge hit! My colleagues literally line up to snag the few packages available, and this year a couple of them decided in advance they would share a package to ensure they got in on the cashew action. I know, right? I constantly hear “your cashews are SO SO SO good…please make more!” and can’t seem to ever make enough.

If you’re still looking for a great host/hostess gift for a Christmas party, stocking stuffer, or any additions to your holiday table over the next few days, look no further. These cashews are a guaranteed crowd pleaser and you can make them at home in minutes — all you need is an oven, a wide non-stick skillet unroasted/unsalted cashews, red chilli flakes, cayenne pepper, salt and maple syrup. Here’s a link to the recipe:

Once the cashews have cooled off, you can package them in cellophane bags tied with a ribbon (or any festive themed container or tin) or simply place them in a nice dish on your holiday table (warning: once you put them out, they will be gone in a matter of minutes). Trust me, this homemade gift idea will not disappoint! Happy Holidays everyone!
